Highlights of 2016!
The Team and I want to start off by thanking you for an amazing 2016! This has been such a busy year for us at Eclectic Chique, and we have each and every one of you to thank for that. We grew as a business, as a family, and as individuals.
We began the year with the launch of our new prints Deni, Starlink and Stella and the new products which we launched in the summer of 2016, at our Summer Sale in May at the Protea Hotel in Lagos Nigeria. It was a well attended event and enabled us get amazing feedback from our customers before launching the final edition on our UK and US online store.
We’re also thrilled to say that our impact has gone far and beyond this year. We gained presence in 2 stores, In London Samson Soboye – a contemporary African Inspired clothing and accessories store, and on ZUVAA, a US online global Marketplace for African design and 2 new Hotels The Renaissance Hotel Ikeja and the Westwood Hotel Ikoyi. In March 2016, our products were recognised as Proudly Nigerian by Her Excellency the Wife of the Vice President Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo. We also had features in other UK and US publications such as OK Magazine, and Essence. In the summer months we began our travels with our 3 month pop up shop at Okapi Knightsbridge London in collaboration with Merchants on Long Africa’s luxury concept store (our South African stockist).
In August we exhibited for the 3rd year in a row at the Magic tradeshow in Las Vegas Nevada, USA supported by the Nigerian Export Promotional Council (NEPC) under their initiative to promote trade between the US and Africa under the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) which in turn gave us presence in several stores all over North& South America, leading to us actively participatingat the Arab African Women Business Tradeshow in Cairo Egypt. This conference was also supported by H.E The President of Egypt, BADEA, UNECA and UNIDO. With the aim to tackle the main issues female entrepreneurs encounter whilst building successful businesses.
In September brought about the amazing 5 day exhibition which we were selected for by the Trade & Impact team held in Ifrane Morocco. An eye opening experience, filled with well taught workshops, seminars, and B2B meetings to promote trade and social entrepreneurship and network with the industry players and businesses. In October we also participated in the Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) Xretail space exhibition for 3 whole days, showcasing our finest works by our hardworking artisans.
The months November & December saw our back end expansion, purchasing of new machines and training of our new artisans. This led to the prepping for our Christmas sales at 5 different locations all over Nigeria.
Looking ahead we already have so many amazing things in the works for 2017. In February we’ll be launching some new products and initiatives which we can’t wait to share with you there will be more of our twitter promotions and competitions, more press, more growth.
The best is yet to come!

We would like to say a Big thank you to all our customers, press team, industry colleagues and friends for all the support through out the year. This year has been a busy one for us. The first quarter began with extended delivery from our online store to the United States , as well as accepting all major credit and debit cards in addition to Paypal. We then began preparing for our Summer travels with the designing and production of our own prints and launching of our limited edition collection of premium silk scarves and home accessories.
In the summer months we began our travels exhibiting at the Magic tradeshow (2 years running) in Las Vegas Nevada courtesy of the Nigerian Export Promotional Council (NEPC) under their initiative to promote trade between the US and Africa under the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) which in turn gave us presence in several stores all over North & South America, leading to us actively participating in the Women’s Vendor Exhibition Forum organised by the International Trade Centre (ITC) in Sao Paolo Brazil and onto Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In October launched our charity campaign were we partnered with SOS Africa to donate 20% of our cushion proceeds for that month to empower children in South Africa with education. November & December we gained presence in 2 stores in beautiful Cape Town South Africa and saw the year end.

From all of us at Eclectic Chique,
all the best for 2016!
SOS Africa (Registered charity #1105747) is a UK based grass roots organisation which funds the education and care of underprivileged African children. Since 2003 they have provided 39 disadvantaged children, from grades 1 to 12, with a personal education programme tailored specifically to their needs. This holistic approach enables children to break the cycle of poverty and reach their full potential. Eclectic Chique has partnered with SOS Africa, on this cause by donating 20% of proceeds from the sale of our throw cushions for the month of October 2015.
Let’s empower with education!
|The Women Vendors Exhibition and Forum is an official event organized by the International Trade Centre, Geneva, Switzerland, together with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) from the 1ST – 3RD September 2015. We at Eclectic Chique are quite pleased to have been one of the lucky 300 companies selected out of 900 to attend this said event which links women vendors to markets by providing training, improving skills and facilitating meetings with buyers from all over the globe.|
